Healthy gluten free dairy free breakfast ideas made without refined sugar, great if you are looking to improve your health or follow an elimination diet. These gluten and dairy free breakfast recipes are based on wholesome clean ingredients, no store bought mixes here. Some can even be made ahead in larger batches for future busy mornings.

Switching to gluten free dairy free breakfasts is pretty difficult because dairy products and the grains that contain gluten, are extremely common in the American diet.

And even though you will find in stores a large variety of sweet or savory gluten free dairy free breakfast options – they are probably not the best options for keeping a healthy digestion.

To my surprise most of them are advertised as healthy. Even if the package advertises whole grains or natural ingredients, when you read the back label you will also find a lot of refined low nutrient ingredients in there.

Make Healthier Gluten Free Dairy Free Breakfast In Your Kitchen

If you are trying to lower inflammation and heal a chronic condition the best thing to do is buy the ingredients separately and make homemade gluten and dairy free breakfast recipes with less sugar.

I know some people prefer to avoid eggs or meat for breakfast, so coming up with healthy vegan and gluten free breakfasts ideas could also be a challenge. But it’s totally doable! Preparing your breakfast with healthy fats, protein and fiber from unprocessed, whole real foods is best achieved in your kitchen. Plus you will end up saving a lot of money in the long run!

GLUTEN FREE DAIRY FREE BREAKFAST IDEAS

So what can you eat for breakfast if you are gluten and dairy free?

You can still enjoy pancakes, muffins, crepes, waffles, granola, breakfast cookies and bars (gluten and dairy free of course) but you can also make gluten free porridges, dairy free breakfast smoothies, egg based or gluten free plant based breakfasts, and even English muffin sandwiches or toasts.

Here are some healthy gluten and dairy free breakfast recipes that health-conscious people will like:

1. Gluten And Dairy Free Stuffed Crepes

These crepes are perfect for a delicious dairy free gluten free breakfast or brunch, and you can transform them into a dessert if you add sweeteners!

They start with a gluten free dairy free crepe recipe and are filled with nut butter and fresh berries.

The raw walnut butter is a filling, nutrient-dense food with many essential vitamins, minerals and fats.

Instead of the traditional whipped cream I used a dairy free alternative – cashew yogurt, the plain, unsweetened version.

If you really want some sweetness, drizzle some raw organic honey or maple syrup (if you’re vegan).

2. French Omelette

An omelette is a simple classic breakfast that is filling and tasty. In this dairy free option I excluded the cheese and added some buckwheat groats for fibre which will make you feel full longer.

Instead of bacon or ham (highly processed meat products that cause inflammation) I used mushrooms and bell peppers.

3. Sweet Potato Latkes

The classic latkes usually require white potatoes which is problematic for people with nightshade sensitivities. So I used sweet potatoes instead, plus they provide a lot more vitamin C and A.

And since this is a gluten and dairy free breakfast, I used brown rice flour instead of wheat flour. But you can also any gluten free flour you like.

You can change the recipe by adding fresh herbs and different spices. This makes a delicious savory sugar free gluten free dairy free breakfast that can be made ahead when you’re tight on time.

Note: In order to avoid oil, for frying I used a ceramic skillet. With it the latkes turned out perfect and uniformly golden.

4. Beet Pancakes

I love to boost my immune system with a beet, apple and carrot smoothie once in a while. And this is another way to incorporate the nutritious beets into a tasty gluten free dairy free breakfast recipe.

You just throw all ingredients in the blender and the batter is ready in minutes.

I added some sliced avocados between pancakes, cucumbers for crunchiness and my favorite pumpkin seed butter.

You can adjust the ingredients as you like and make a different gluten free dairy free breakfast recipe (sweet or savory).

5. Banana Pancakes

You probably won’t make pancakes every day but these are the perfect weekend breakfast treat, that won’t mess up your healthy diet.

These pancakes are naturally sweetened by banana, but you can drizzle some raw honey or pure maple syrup if you like them more sweet.

For extra fiber and flavor I also added some seeds and berries over the batter as the first side was cooking. For recipe see card below.

Serve this gluten free dairy free breakfast with some plain dairy free coconut or cashew yogurt and fruits.

6. Zucchini Frittata

This frittata is an easy make-ahead gluten free dairy free breakfast and since this is a dairy free option, I skipped the milk and cheese.

I didn’t use a lot of eggs, as I prefer the vegetables barely coated with eggs not the other way around.

After mixing all ingredients all you have to do is pour everything in a bake dish and throw it in the oven, yo don’t even have to grease it with oil.

I used a 9×13″ glass casserole dishs and baked it in the oven. It’s easy to store and reheat right in the same dish.
