This smoky honey mustard is a great way to add some flavor to your food. The sauce can be used on anything from chicken to vegetables. The best part about this smoky honey mustard sauce recipe is naturally dairy free, very easy to make and requires only a few minutes. Vegan option available as well.

While it is often used as a dipping sauce, this smoky honey mustard recipe can also be used to add flavor to sandwiches, chicken, pork, and fish or for dipping veggie fritters. You need only a few simple ingredients as the base and extra spices for flavoring.
Additionally, it can be used as a salad dressing. It would go well with this shrimp cabbage salad. But I prefer to use my other honey mustard dressing recipe as dressing.
However, the smoky honey mustard can also be purchased pre-made at most grocery stores but the drawback is that most of them have added sugar and artificial ingredients. Hence I like to make my own – healthier smoky honey mustard!

How To Make Smoky Honey Mustard Sauce
All you need is some Dijon mustard, honey, sugar free mayonnaise and ketchup, apple cider vinegar for extra acidity and extra spices and herbs to acquire that smoky taste. The key to making this sauce is to balance the flavors. You don’t want the sauce to be too sweet or too spicy.
I also made my own healthy barbeque sauce without added sugar (whole30 friendly), which I recommend if you care about the quality of ingredients that goes into your food.
